• DAAD Application Form: Completed and signed.
• Curriculum Vitae (CV): Using the Europass format.
• Motivation Letter: Detailing academic and professional goals.
• Academic Transcripts and Certificates: Certified copies.
• Proof of Language Proficiency:
  • German: DSH, TestDaF, or Goethe-Institut certificates.
  • English: IELTS (minimum band 6) or TOEFL (minimum score 550 paper-based, 213 computer-based, 80 internet-based).
• Recommendation Letters: From university professors or employers.
• Work Experience Certificates: (If applicable)
• Research Proposal: (For PhD applicants)

Required Language Proficiency Tests

For English-Taught Programs:

• IELTS: Minimum overall band score of 6.5.
• TOEFL:
  • Paper-based: 550
  • Computer-based: 213
  • Internet-based: 80
• Cambridge English Certificates: B2 First (FCE), C1 Advanced (CAE), or C2 Proficiency (CPE).
• PTE Academic: Minimum score of 59.

For German-Taught Programs:

• TestDaF: Minimum level TDN 4 in all sections.
• DSH: Level 2 or higher (DSH-2).
• Goethe-Zertifikat: Level C2.
• telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule: Level C1.
• UNIcert: Level III (C1).
• KMK Certificate: Level C1 in all sections.

DAAD Scholarship Benefits

1. Monthly Stipend

• Master’s Students: €934 per month.
• PhD Candidates: €1,200 per month.
• Postdoctoral Researchers: Up to €2,400 per month.

This stipend covers living expenses such as accommodation, food, transportation, and study materials. 

2. Tuition Fees

DAAD scholarships typically cover tuition fees for the entire duration of the program, ensuring that scholars can focus on their studies without financial burden. 

3. Travel Allowance

A travel grant is provided to cover round-trip airfare from the scholar's home country to Germany. This allowance may also cover travel expenses related to study-related trips, conferences, or exchange programs. 

4. Health, Accident & Liability Insurance

Comprehensive insurance coverage is included, encompassing health, accident, and personal liability insurance. This ensures that scholars are protected against unforeseen medical expenses and other potential risks during their stay in Germany. 

5. German Language Course Funding

For programs taught in German, DAAD scholarships may cover the cost of language courses undertaken before the start of the academic program, facilitating better integration and academic success. 

6. Additional Allowances

Under certain circumstances, scholars may receive:

• Monthly Rent Subsidy: To assist with accommodation costs.
• Family Allowance: For scholars accompanied by family members.
• Research Allowance: For expenses related to academic research.

These additional benefits are designed to support scholars in various aspects of their academic journey.
