Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria vary by program level:

Undergraduate (BS) Programs:

• General: Candidates must have passed intermediate or equivalent examination (FA/F.Sc./I.COM/ICS/A-Levels) with at least 2nd division (45% marks) from any public or private university.
• Specific Program Requirements:Computer Science/Information Technology/Human Nutrition & Dietetics/Food Science and Technology: Minimum 50% marks in intermediate.
• Mathematics: Must have studied Mathematics (200 marks) in intermediate with at least 45% marks.
• Fine Arts: Must pass an aptitude/entrance test in addition to academic requirements.
• Age Limit: The maximum age limit is typically 22 years on the closing date of application, with a possible relaxation of up to four years by the competent authority.
• Domicile: Primarily for females having domicile of Punjab. Candidates with domicile other than Punjab may apply against reserved seats if a nomination letter from their respective provincial government is provided. Foreign and overseas Pakistani students can also apply through the relevant federal ministry/embassy.
• Merit Calculation: Merit is generally calculated with 30% weightage for Matriculation marks and 70% weightage for FA/F.Sc./I.COM/ICS or equivalent marks.
• Late Year Deduction: For BS or equivalent programs, 2% will be deducted from the overall merit for each late year, up to a maximum of two years. This deduction does not apply to MS and PhD programs.

Postgraduate (MA/M.Sc./MS/M.Phil./PhD) Programs:

• MA/M.Sc.:14 years of education (BA/B.Sc. or equivalent) with at least 2nd Division.
• 50% marks in the subject selected for MA/M.Sc.
• Additional marks may be awarded for specific elective subjects (e.g., English Literature for MA English, Urdu literature for MA Urdu).
• MS/M.Phil.:16 years of education in the relevant field.
• A minimum CGPA of 2.5 (out of 4.00 in the semester system) or 2nd Division in the annual system in the undergraduate degree is required.
• Must clear a subject test at least at par with the GRE test, with a qualifying score of 60%.
• PhD:At least 18 years of education (MS/MPhil degree) or equivalent qualification from an HEC-recognized institution in the relevant subject.
• At least First Division (under Annual System) in MPhil/MS/equivalent degree or minimum CGPA 3.000 (out of 4.000 under Semester System).
• Must secure at least 70% marks in the subject test equivalent to subject GRE conducted by the concerned department following HEC's guidelines.

Necessary Documents:

Applicants need to upload scanned copies of their academic credentials and other required documents online. Original documents will be verified at the time of admission. The general list of documents includes:

• One recent passport-size photograph with a blue background.
• CNIC or B-Form of the applicant.
• CNIC of the applicant's Father/Guardian.
• Matriculation / O-level mark sheets/certificates.
• F.A./F.Sc./A-level or Equivalent mark sheets/certificates.
• B.A./B.Sc./BBA or Equivalent mark sheets/certificates (for Master's programs).
• BS/M.A./M.Sc./PGD mark sheets/degrees (for MS/M.Phil./PhD programs).
• Research Papers/Publications (if applicable, for higher degrees).
• Job Experience certificate (if applicable).
• GAT/GRE score (if applicable for MS/M.Phil./PhD).
• Character certificate from the last attended institution.
• Domicile of the applicant.
• Hafiz-e-Quraan Certificate (if applicable, for additional marks).
• NOC/Migration Certificate (if coming from a board/university other than BISE Gujranwala or GCWUS).
• NOC from the employer (for employed individuals).
• Original bank receipt/challan form/bank draft for admission processing and prospectus fee.
• A signed agreement at the back of the admission form by the applicant and parent/guardian.

Required Entrance Tests (if any)

• Undergraduate (BS) Programs: GCWUS conducts a university admission test for BS programs. This test is generally of intermediate level and consists of four parts: English, Analytical Reasoning, Mathematics, and General Knowledge. The composition is typically 30% English, 30% Analytical Reasoning, 20% Mathematics, and 20% General Knowledge. A minimum of 45% qualifying marks are required in the entry test, and these marks are counted towards the overall merit calculation (40% for the test and 60% for academic marks).
• Fine Arts (BS): Candidates for Fine Arts must pass a departmental aptitude/drawing test.
• MS/M.Phil. Programs: A university committee conducts a subject test at least at par with the GRE test. A qualifying score of 60% is required.
• PhD Programs: A subject test equivalent to subject GRE, conducted by the concerned department, is required, with a minimum of 70% marks to qualify.

Complete Application Process:

The general application process involves several steps:

1. Online Application: Desirous candidates sign up and fill out the online admission form available on the university website.
2. Information & Document Upload: Submit personal information, all academic details, and upload scanned copies of required documents.
3. Program Selection: Candidates interested in multiple departments can indicate their priority options on the form.
4. Fee Submission: Submit the admission processing and prospectus fee through a bank account, bank draft, or challan form, and upload its receipt on the portal. The original receipt should be sent to the treasurer's office via courier.
5. Acknowledgement: Upon successful completion, the submitted application(s) will be automatically acknowledged, and a printable receipt will be generated.
6. Merit List Display: Merit lists are generated and displayed on the university website and notice boards according to the announced schedule.
7. Fee Deposit (for selected candidates): Selected candidates must pay/deposit admission fees and other dues within the notified dates, otherwise, their admission may be canceled.
8. Document Verification: All selected candidates must present original credentials in person for verification to the respective department.
9. Hard Copy Submission: Hard copies of academic credentials and a duly endorsed admission form are required before the commencement of classes.
