University of Home Economics (UHE)

Eligibility Criteria: 

The general eligibility criteria are as follows, but specific programs may have additional requirements:

For BS Programs:

• Applicants must have passed Intermediate (FA/F.Sc./HSSC or equivalent) examinations with a minimum of 45% marks or relevant council criteria.
• Students with 3rd division (less than 45% aggregate marks under annual system or less than 2.00 CGPA under semester system, or less than 60% marks where CGPA is not available) in their terminal degree are generally not eligible.
• Students awaiting their final year results (FA/FSc or equivalent) can apply based on their 1st-year marks.
• Students with unusual or non-standard qualifications (e.g., diplomas, certificates) may need to seek equivalence from the Quality Enhancement Cell, University of Education, Lahore, prior to applying.

For MS/MPhil Programs:

• A minimum CGPA or percentage in the relevant Bachelor's degree is required.
• Applicants having less than 45% aggregate marks or less than 2.00 CGPA in their terminal degree are not eligible.

Necessary Documents: 

When submitting your application, you will typically need to attach three sets of attested copies of the following documents, along with 3 passport-size photographs:

• Matriculation certificate/equivalent
• Intermediate certificate/equivalent
• Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) / Form B of the applicant
• Father's/Guardian's Computerized National Identity Card
• Domicile certificate
• Character Certificate from the last institute attended
• Migration Certificate (if applicable, in case of other Boards' Testimonials)
• Recent passport-size photographs
• Supporting documents for Reserved Seats (if applying under a reserved quota)
• Original Fee Deposit Challan Form (mandatory)

Required Entrance Tests (if any):

For BS Programs:

• For Faculty of Art & Design (including BS Interior Design, Art & Design, Textile Design, Fashion Design, Visual Communication & Design, Fine Arts, Sculpture & Ceramic Design), an Entry Test is conducted.
  • The test has two parts: Written (25 marks) and Drawing (25 marks).
  • The written test is 30 minutes, 25 MCQs, no negative marking.
  • It covers basic concepts of Principles & Elements of Design, Color in relation to specific design fields.

For MS/MPhil and PhD Programs:

• UHE conducts an entry test equivalent to GRE/HAT General developed at the University, with a passing score of 60%.
• Alternatively, a test equivalent to GRE/HAT General, conducted by HEC-accredited testing bodies, with a passing score of 60%, may be accepted.

Scholarship Opportunities:

 UHE provides various scholarship opportunities to support deserving and brilliant students. These include:

• Chief Minister Punjab Honhaar Scholarship Program: A significant number of UHE students have received this scholarship, which may cover tuition fees for four years.
• Taleem Mumkin Scholarships: UHE has also provided these scholarships to students.
• Netsol Scholarships: Similar to Taleem Mumkin, these are also offered by UHE.
• Need-Based and Merit-Based Scholarships: The university aims to ensure financial limitations don't hinder academic ambition.
• Other Scholarships: UHE also explores collaborations for international scholarships, such as with South Korean Universities.

Students awarded scholarships based on merit or specific criteria may be subject to conditions (e.g., maintaining a certain CGPA).

Complete Application Process:

1. Obtain Application Form: Download the relevant admission form (e.g., BS Open Merit, BS Reserved Seats, Self-Supporting) from the official UHE website.
2. Fill the Form Carefully: All entries must be written/typed clearly. Incomplete forms will not be processed.
3. Pay Processing Fee: A processing fee (e.g., Rs. 1000 for Open Merit BS programs, separate for self-support or multiple programs) must be deposited. The name of the program(s) applied for should be written on the processing fee challan. The original challan must be attached with the application.
4. Attach Required Documents: Prepare three sets of attested photocopies of all necessary documents as listed above, along with three passport-size photographs.
5. Submit Application: The duly filled application form, with all attested documents and the original fee challan, must be submitted to the University by the last date specified in the admission notice. It is often recommended to send it via registered post/courier service.
6. Original Documents at Admission: Applicants whose names appear on the merit list will need to present all original educational documents, CNIC/Form-B, and Father/Guardian CNIC, along with two sets of photocopies of all these documents, to the Admission Incharge.
