Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must hold a doctoral degree and be early-career researchers (post-PhD level) with a well-defined research project.
- Open to all nationalities, including researchers outside Sweden.
- Selection emphasizes scientific quality of the project and a demonstrated research record
Required Documents
Applicants must prepare and submit:
- A clear and specific research plan (PDF)
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Copies of academic/diploma certificates
- A list of academic publications (if applicable)
- Contact details for two academic referees (i.e., references).
Unlike many scholarships, there is no requirement for standardized admission tests (like GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, etc.). The primary requirement is the research profile and documentation.
Admission / Test Requirements for Pakistani Students
- No standardized admission tests are required.
- The Wahlgrenska Foundation scholarship is not tied to university admissions. It is a research grant for postdoctoral-level scholars.
- No GRE, IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, or GAT are required.
- Eligibility for Pakistanis:
- You must already hold a PhD/doctoral degree.
- You must be conducting (or planning) research in media/mass communication fields.
- Applications from Pakistan are fully eligible (the scholarship is open to all nationalities).
- Language requirements:
- The application (research plan, CV, etc.) should be written in English (or Swedish). Since this is a research funding scheme, the quality of your research plan matters most — not language test scores.
Scholarship Benefits
- Financial Grant: Six (6) scholarships, each valued at SEK 100,000 (about 10,000 USD).
- Purpose: To support research expenses in media studies and enhance academic and research impact.
